Psychological Development, Emotions and The Inner Child

If you are like most people you will have days when you feel like having a hissy-fit or wanting to cry for no apparent reason. Or you may find yourself falling for the same kind of person or into the same kind of mess over and again. These moments and patterns often are the cries of a long-forgotten part of ourselves – The Inner Child. Most of us had events in our early years that we deemed ‘bad’ or even ‘traumatic’. No matter how ‘bad’ these situations or patterns were, we learned from them — and more often than not we concluded that a part of us was ‘not okay’ and we put that part away, into a deep, dark corner of ourselves. All these parts form the Inner Child.

Working with the Inner Child does not require re-experiencing the pain. It does require us to take responsibility for that ‘Little One Inside’ in the here and now and develop the skills to be the Grown-up that Inner Child needs.

This evening is a basic exploration of the concept and development of the Inner Child and a first introduction to that part within you.
