Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn’t people feel as free to delight in whatever remains to them?
Nature is healing. From the walkabouts of Aboriginal Australians to Japanese forest bathing, peoples all over the world have understood nature’s healing power for body, soul and spirit. Yet, in our modern life, we often live largely disconnected from nature.
This day of walking, seeing, sharing, and playing offers participants an opportunity to get out into nature with like-minded people, hone observational skills, and listen with inner quiet to the messages that are ever-present in the goings-on of Mother Nature.
The day will include a walk of medium difficulty (unpaved wood paths and some hills), mindfulness exercises, creativity and opportunities to rest, journal, share, and simply be. There will be some time of silent walking and contemplation. A cold vegetarian finger-food lunch and art materials are included in the fee.
Participants are asked to bring their own water, photo camera and journal if so desired.
Please wear appropriate attire (hiking shoes etc.) and take whatever precautions you deem appropriate for some time in nature (weather gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc.).
Pre-registration is required at the registration deadline mentioned below.
