Seasons of Reflection – a therapeutic group

Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn’t people feel as free to delight in whatever remains to them?

Rose F. Kennedy

This series of small, closed and guided groups is designed for adults who are looking for a thoughtful space to pause, reflect, and reorient throughout the year.

Each offering follows the natural rhythm of the year, with a distinct seasonal focus:

Autumn – Harvest & Letting Go
A reflective group exploring life patterns, biographical threads, and the experience of change — including what is ending, what is being asked of you now, and how to work with loss in a grounded way.

Winter – Stillness & Meaning
A quieter circle for deepening reflection, strengthening inner clarity, and listening more closely to what is emerging beneath the surface.

Spring – Reorientation & Choice
A space to explore what wants to take shape next — clarifying values, making aligned decisions, and moving forward with greater intention.

Summer – Integration
A more immersive retreat or day-based experience designed to step out of the usual pace of life, take stock, and integrate insight in a structured, supported way.

Groups can be taken individually or as part of an ongoing rhythm of reflection. Over time, participants may find that returning at different points in the year offers a steady and supportive way to stay connected to what is unfolding in their lives.

The groups will be held online with exercises encouraging explorations of the natural world suggested for in-between meetings. The summer meeting will be an in-person experience.

Further details about upcoming groups will be shared soon.

Fall 2026: Harvesting and Letting Go

A Reflective Group Exploring Change

Autumn invites us to pause and take stock. As nature turns inward, we too are given an opportunity to reflect on what we have gathered, what has changed, and what we are ready to release.

This 8-week reflective therapy group is an invitation to explore your own inner landscape through the wisdom of the season. Together, we will explore life patterns, personal transitions, loss and grief, and the process of letting go — while making space for greater clarity, meaning, and intentional choice.

Through guided reflection, creative exploration, mindfulness, and gentle experiential practices, this group offers a supportive space to:

  • Reflect on the experiences, relationships, and lessons you have gathered along your life journey
  • Recognize patterns and explore what continues to serve you — and what may be ready to change
  • Work with grief, loss, and life transitions with compassion and awareness
  • Reconnect with your deeper sense of Self beyond roles, expectations, and circumstances
  • Clarify what you want to carry forward into the next season of your life

Like the trees releasing what they no longer need, we can learn to trust the natural rhythms of change — allowing space for both endings and new beginnings.

This small group combines the depth of psychotherapy with reflective and creative practices, offering a meaningful opportunity to slow down, listen inwardly, and engage with the transitions that shape our lives.

  • navigating a significant life transition
  • sensing that an important chapter is coming to an end
  • wanting to understand recurring life patterns more deeply
  • carrying grief or loss while seeking a way forward
  • longing for a slower, more reflective pace
  • interested in psychotherapy that makes room for questions of meaning and personal growth

What to Expect

Each session combines thoughtful conversation, guided reflection, experiential exercises, and creative exploration. Some weeks include mindfulness or gentle movement; others invite journaling, artwork, or contemplative practices. No artistic experience is needed—these activities are simply different ways of exploring your inner experience.

What This Group Is Not

This is not a psychoeducational course or a skills-training program. While the group is grounded in psychotherapy, it is also reflective, experiential, and creative. The emphasis is on understanding yourself more deeply, rather than learning techniques or receiving advice.

FAQs

Questions? Here are some answers to common questions, but feel free to email me if you want to know more. I’d love to hear from you.

Is this a therapy group? Will I have to share in every meeting?

Yes, this is a psychotherapy group facilitated by a Registered Psychotherapist. While participation is encouraged, you are always free to decide when, how much, and what you would like to share. Sometimes, simply listening and reflecting can be just as valuable as speaking. My role is to create a safe and respectful environment where everyone can participate at their own pace.

I'm not really creative. Can I still benefit from this group?

Absolutely. The creative and movement activities are offered as gentle ways of exploring your thoughts and experiences—they are not about artistic ability or physical performance. They are invitations rather than expectations, and you are always welcome to adapt an exercise or simply reflect in a way that feels more natural to you.

What if I realize the group isn't the right fit for me? Or what if I have to miss a session?

Life is sometimes unpredictable, and I understand that circumstances can change. If you decide to withdraw before the second session begins, your registration fee will be refunded, less the non-refundable deposit. Once the second session has begun, I am no longer able to offer refunds, as your place has been reserved for the duration of the group.

If you need to miss an occasional session, you are welcome to return the following week. Because of the nature of the group process, individual make-up sessions are not available.

Is this covered by extended health insurance?

Because this is a psychotherapy group facilitated by a Registered Psychotherapist, it may be eligible for reimbursement through your extended health benefits. You will receive a receipt that includes the information typically required by insurance providers. As coverage varies between plans, I recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm whether group psychotherapy services are included in your benefits.

Limited Spots Available.  Pre-registration is required.

This group is intentionally small (max 8 participants) to ensure a personal, unhurried experience.
